Next Event

Hi all. Welcome back from Thanksgiving break. I just figured we'd get a head start on our next event and come up with a few ideas now. Some previously suggested ideas were doing a big dinner or swing dancing.

I think there's gonna be a Christmas dinner, so maybe something other than the big dinner thing.

Does anyone else want to see the nativity story? That could be fun.

I think a Christmastime dinner would be kind of nice. And I know it's kind of old fashioned, but I'm all for group games. (Pictionary, Apples to Apples, Telephone charades, etc.) We can make each other laugh pretty easily - I think it would be fun! Plus, no offence Sam, but it's almost winter right? I don't know if volleyball would work so well with mittens....

i like the idea of dinner and game night. that could be pretty fun!

I haven't heard anything about a big Christmas thing, but maybe I'm just out of the loop. But if we do have a Christmas party, which we definitely need to have, we could have it at someone's big house (Sam's would be good), eat, play games, and then at the end of the night we could all watch some Christmas movie. My personal vote would be for A Christmas Story, since it's hilarious and one of the most classic Christmas movies ever, plus it seems that no one in CovLife has seen it. However, there is some objectionable content (language, mostly, plus a leg lamp featured prominently), so maybe something else. But I think we should definitely do a senior Christmas party.

Yeah Mrs. Hoover and my mom are planning a Christmas dinner at our house. Maybe the week after Christmas since break doesn't start till a few days b4.

A game night would be fun! And swing dancing pretty much rocks =)

To give everyone a heads up, it sounds like the Greers are going to put together a game night for all of us, maybe in January.

Swing dancing is a good idea, just wondering how many people are good at it and how it would work for everyone who isn't (e.g. myself).

i kinda know how to swing dance but i'm not a good teacher... playing apples apples does sound fun though.

According to what everyones saying, there's going to be a Christmas party in December (I'll have to get more details from Mrs. Hoover), and the Greers have said they'd like to put on a game night for us in January. What do you all suggest playing?

I wonder if we can't smash Christmas caroling into the schedule too.

If you guys are doing carolling, I'm not coming. I don't want you guys to have to put up with me.

Come on Pete, you don't have to be a good singer to have a good time carolling (or however you spell it). I think carolling sounds fun. If we play a game, I think we should stick with the basics: Charades, Pictionary, Scattergories, etc.

ive never been carolling! that sounds fun although i am the worst singer ever.

I'm not particularly interested in swing dancing, but I would LOVE to go caroling together! And a Christmas party with group games sounds like a lot of fun, too.

ummm.... yeah. it looks like i'm a little late on the discussion but i'll but my 2 1/2 cents in. "A Christmas thing sounds great!" there. my voice.
